Communion With God: Mountain Top Meets My Street
Who doesn't marvel at the views from our local Vancouver mountaintops? Which is your favourite one - Grouse, Cypress or Seymour? Talking about mountaintop experiences, imagine this: on a mountain hike with Jesus, three close followers see something even more stunning. Jesus is transfigured. Moses and Elijah show up, the glory cloud swallows them all up and the very voice of God the Father affirms Jesus. (Matthew 17:1-13 summed up)
Many people have this in common. They want to know and 'commune' with God. However, it is also common to imagine that 'communion with God' would happen best on the mountain top. What does the Bible say about communing with God? Where does it happen? How does it work?
This series will show that the Bible affirms the mountain as a place of communion with God. And even better, we will see how God communes with people in ordinary life, too. Communion with God happens both on the mountain and on my street. And, communion with God is meant to be a shared experience with other Christians within community life. So, each Sunday during this series, we will celebrate the Lord's Communion Table. Press in - experience deeper and sweeter communion with God.
