"Go and learn what this means: I desire compassion, not sacrifice."

Jesus in Matthew 9:13

Imagine with me what a church looks like that looks like Jesus - leaping into our imagination would have to be the powerful yet humble compassionate life of Christ. What is compassion? Where does it come from? How does one not burn out while caring? What sorts of people desire this compassion? We invite you to journey with us through this summer preaching series from the gospel of Matthew - come, learn to see with the eyes of your heart. "God is a compassionate God. This means, first of all, that he is a God who has chosen to be God-with-us." (Henri Nouwen, Donald McNeill, Douglas Morrison).
