Wholeness

Let this be the year that you really go for it.  Not a bad thought - but what is the "it" that you are going to go for?  As a church, we are pursuing the vision of becoming a Spirit-filled Community.  On that path we are also learning what it means to rest and wait upon the Lord who is the source of Spirit-filed life.  As we wait on the Lord, not only is our strength renewed (and it is), we also deepen our understanding and sharpen our obedience to know and do the will of God.  A key word for this new season, and a natural outcome of spiritual rest, must be "wholeness."   In His presence, (which brings us everything we need) we face our deepest need to be made whole.  This is what Christ came to do - to bring things into unity; to reconcile; to set the captives free.  The teachings of Jesus in the book of Matthew (Sermon on the Mount and Parables) is the path that will lead us forward this term.
